Ryan gave us a shout this summer to ask if we could photograph his surprise proposal, at Whinny Acres in Priceville, Ontario. We had photographed there before and subsequently became good friends with the owner, Deb, who is a super nice and hard working lady! Our answer: yes, of course (spoiler alert, LOL). It has a beautiful rolling hill landscape lush with trees, flowers, and wildlife in abundance. Which brings us to the part about hiding - hiding in the bushes (selfie pic below), at a pre-determined spot so that Deb could come up with a bogus story about how one of the horse's saddles was loose. My son, Aidan, accompanied me to do some family photos not far from our house on the Thanksgiving weekend. He did a great job, as he had done once before, of slinging gear and helping me out. Janice, who hired me, and her family have a beautiful farm near Flesherton, Ontario. We were worried about the weather and at one point we ran around trying to get a few more pics that were needed because it looked like the heavens were about to open up. Fortunately the sun held out long enough to finish. And this image is one example. Because just as Aidan and I were leaving the driveway in our truck, the wind picked up and it started to hail!B.Q.
